Another feature of the Amana ACEC96 is that it has a 96% AFUE rating. The acronym AFUE stands for Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency. The AFUE is a thermal efficiency measure of how efficiently your furnace can utilize its fuel. The more efficient the furnace, the more heat you will get per unit of fuel. The highest AFUE rating is 100%. A 96% AFUE rating that means that 96% of the gas the Amana ACEC96 furnace uses will be converted to heat and only 4% is lost up the flue.
