Replace or Clean Your Dirty Air Filter
In the Las Vegas desert, we live in a dry and dusty climate, which means air filters don’t last long here. A dirty air filter can actually suffocate your air conditioning system and cause it to work harder than it needs to. In addition to the dangerous health implications to people that live and work in your building, this can lead to higher energy bills, more repairs and a shortened lifespan of your air conditioner. A dirty filter only takes a few minutes to change. So, before the stifling summer heat comes along be sure to change your air conditioning filter.
Clear the Area Around Your Air Conditioner
If your home or business’ air conditioner is outside of your premises and on the ground, you should make sure it has adequate room to breathe. Air Supply Heating and Air Conditioning usually recommends about a three foot area around the air conditioner that is clear of debris, shrubs, leaves and weeds etc. This allows for adequate airflow to your air conditioner and helps keep your air conditioning coils cleaner.
Check the AC Drain Line
As part of the cooling process, your air conditioner also removes humidity from the air. This humidity is removed from your home or business via a drain line (also known as a condensate drain line.) A clogged condensate drain line can cause a lot of damage to your A/C System. Make sure your air conditioners drain line is clog free before turning it on this summer. Get an A/C Preventive Maintenance Tune-up

The best time to have a tune-up performed is now, before the summer heat pushes your air conditioner into overdrive and before you have to wait when local air conditioning companies get really busy.
